
D&I leads to creative solutions
Because the fact is that diversity and inclusion (D&I) helps insurers attract and retain talented employees. "Diversity often leads to more creative solutions to problems and innovation, because diverse teams offer many more perspectives. It also leads to better decisions from a wider range of opinions and information. It helps to avoid groupthink and to increase the quality of decision-making," Den Rooijen sums up."Moreover, people feel at home in workplaces where they are valued, regardless of their background, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or other characteristics. And that, of course, also attracts new talent and ensures the retention of existing talent."
Masterclass and step-by-step plan
Den Rooijen points to the step-by-step plan in which insurers share their practical examples and thus provide concrete tools to get started with D&I. It helps insurers to work in a structured way on an effective policy for D&I. "In addition, a 2-day Masterclass on D&I will take place on 13 May and 5 June. The meeting to gain and share knowledge and exchange experiences," says Den Rooijen. "You will learn to identify, identify and address D&I bottlenecks by working with the group to come up with solutions and concrete actions in order to take (first and next) steps in the field of D&I."
