The members of the Dutch Association of Insurers are in a strong position because they join forces to represent their interests and make policy. Membership also offers benefits for employees of insurers: attend meetings, follow training courses and webinars, subscribe to newsletters or participate in committees or working groups.

Training, webinars and events

Participate in (master's) courses, webinars and courses through the Insurance Academy. With more than a hundred meetings and theme days, there is always something for you!

Data and research

The Data Analytics Centre (DAC) conducts statistical research. This allows members to improve their business operations or compare their portfolio with other insurers. Through collaboration, they link more and more data, which leads to new insights and dashboards.

Stronger together: joining forces

Advocacy

The Association represents the interests of its members and connects them with the interests of society. In the pursuit of a vital industry, we strengthen our social role and are always looking for insurance solutions. Members on boards, committees and working groups determine the positions we propagate.

On a daily basis, the Association is in dialogue with the government, politics in The Hague and Europe, (sector) organisations, regulators, NGOs and the media. From old-age provisions and social security in our country to the security of homes or the consequences of climate change.

Platform

Members can meet at and through the Covenant. But of course, our sector does not stand alone. The Association therefore acts as a platform between the insurance sector and society.

Together with partners, members look for solutions to issues such as insurability, climate, dealing with data or the future of the labour market. Many events are also open to both members and non-insurers.

PR coordination/spokesperson

Media appearances on behalf of insurers

In order to maintain or further promote the reputation of insurers in the Netherlands, the Association coordinates the PR and spokesperson of the industry.

Employers' affairs

As an employers' party, the Association concludes the collective labour agreement with trade unions for the insurance business (office and field service). We also work with a social agenda in which the labour market value of employees is central. Read more about these topics

Fighting crime

The Centre for Combating Insurance Crime (CBV) provides operational and policy support to insurers in tackling fraud and other insurance crime. Proving fraud saves the sector eighty to one hundred million euros annually.

Self-regulation

Self-regulation and monitoring contribute to quality. They strengthen the trust of consumers and stakeholders. It also offers efficiency benefits for members. Read more about this system of company regulations, covenants, protocols and codes of conduct.
