As vice-chair, Bianca Tetteroo has been a member of the board of the Dutch Association of Insurers for five years. At Achmea, she has been a member of the Executive Board since 2015; since 2021 as chairman. In 1996, Bianca started her career in the financial sector at what was then Fortis, where she held various positions, including within Asset Management and the insurance branch. In 2009, she moved to Achmea, where she was chair of the Pension & Life division before joining the Executive Board.
Bianca Tetteroo: "We live in a world in which uncertainty is increasing for many people. It is precisely then that it is our responsibility as insurers to make customers more resilient and to help them understand and absorb risks properly. At the same time, new technologies offer numerous opportunities to further improve our services – but always with an eye for accessibility, so that vulnerable groups can also continue to participate. Another important theme is climate adaptation. We have a broad responsibility. Not only repairing damage, but also preventing and investing in prevention. I look forward to increasing the strength of the Association together, because it is precisely through cooperation – within and outside the sector – that we can accelerate and make more impact."
In addition to her positions at Achmea and the Dutch Association of Insurers, Bianca is a board member of the Geneva Association (international think tank for the insurance sector) and a non-executive director of RELX PLC (formerly Reed Elsevier).
